Though PPA (Password Privacy Act of 2012) was drafted with the best of intentions—safeguarding employees against retaliatory backlash and contractual pigeon-holing by employers in the realm of social media—it has unwittingly created a nasty catch-22 for any company bound by the mandates laid out by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).
